Alex Johnson –– Illustrator

Alex is a sophomore at UIS majoring in Visual Arts. He enjoys drawing in his spare time, both traditionally and digitally. He always wants to improve his skills as an artist and has participated in several art events and organizations.

Alex was selected to participate in the 2011 Fox Valley Conference Art Show. His artwork  was chosen for permanent display at Crystal Lake South High School, and he was a finalist in the Raue Center for the 2009 Arts’ FOCUS Cultural Youth Day Visual Arts Competition. Alex also contributed several illustrations for his high school’s newspaper and visual aids for Rock ‘n’ Kids, Inc., a preschool music program throughout the Chicago area. A fan of book illustration and animated cartoons and films, Alex aspires to work as a children’s book illustrator or as an animator after college.

Outside of school and formal events, Alex is a member of the online art community, DeviantART, as well as Facebook and Tumblr.
