Award winning, student run, weekly campus newspaper of the University of Illinois, Springfield
Kate is a graduate student at UIS studying communication. As the Business Manager, Kate seeks out advertising clients, manages all advertising content in the newspaper, runs The Journal’s social media, and assists in updating website content. Kate plans to graduate in 2013 and pursue a career in public relations.
In her three years at The Journal, Kate has served as Cartoonist, News Reporter, Assistant Editor for news, and Editor-in-Chief. Kate holds awards from the Illinois College Press Association in front page newspaper design, feature layout, editorial writing, and in-depth news reporting.
